Select a theme- Have your child help select a theme, this will help with invitations, decorations, favors and food.
Plan out the party timing and events- Determine the games, activities, food before hand, include a couple of extra games or activities in case you need to fill time.
Decorate and prepare the night before- Do as much as you can the night before to help reduce stress the day of the party.
Table Decorations - Mini Mylar Balloons make excellent table decorations. You can also use small toys that compliment your theme. Be sure to spread out a themed table cover over your table to help with the festive atmosphere.
Balloons - Hang balloon bunches from light fixtures and doorways. Use colored curling ribbon to tie them together, curl the ends between your thumb and the blade of your scissors. Use helium filled balloons on your mailbox or lamp post (wait until the day of the party to fill them). Make a balloon archway for the party guests to arrive and walk through.
Crepe Paper Streamers - Hang crepe paper streamers thoughout the party area. Use 2 or 3 different colors that match your theme.
Decorate the "Seat of Honor"- Decorate a special chair or stool for your child to use during the party.
Smile- Take lots of pictures to remember the special day.
